posticon 2 days Tangier tour to Chefchaouen

2 days Tangier tour to Chefchaouen Overview:

Duration: 2 days – 1 nights

Departure: Tangier

Arrival: Tangier

Tangier tour to Chefchaouen itinerary:

Day 1: Tangier to Chefchaouen.

We will start our 2-day tour from Tangier to Chefchaouen from your accommodation. One of our drivers will come to pick you up at 8 a.m. Then, we will drive through the coast and to the new port of Tangier. Here, there is a panoramic view of Gibraltar, the British Overseas Territory. After that, we will drive near Ceuta, a Spanish autonomous even in Morocco’s land. We will pass by Martil, from the Spanish name Río Martín. Here, people from different places in Morocco come during the summer to enjoy their holidays at the beach.
Thereafter, after about 20 minutes driver, we will arrive at the white dove or Tetouan. Next, we will have a stop to walk around the smallest old Medina in Morocco. Moreover, it’s protected by the Unesco heritage because it’s the main point where Morocco and Andalusia contact. Then, we will stop for a picture of the roundabout where there is a dove that represents Tetouan.
One of the best places in the north where to spend the day is the waterfalls of Akchour. Here, people from Tangier, Tetouan, and Chefchaouen come to relax from the noise of the cities. Also, the waterfalls are two parts, tall waterfalls, and small ones. The small ones are one-hour hiking, and the tall ones are two hours. Moreover, there is another interesting place to hike here, it’s God’s Bridge, it depends if you are tired, we will skip it if not, we will also explore it. Furthermore, the waterfalls are suitable for swimming. Therefore, if you are coming in summer, bring your swimming clothes. If this is an interesting place for you, you can contact us to customize 3 days tour. Then, you can spend one night here at Akchour and one night in Chaouen.

Day 2: Chefchaouen to Tangier (112 km).

On the second day of our 2 days tour from Tangier to Chefchaouen, Chaouen, or the blue pearl of Morocco. It’s a big town where the houses and the walls are all painted with blue and white. Therefore, it is an admired attraction for many tourists all year round. Chefchaouen was found in 1471 by the Jews and the Moors fleeing at the Rif mountains. Some people say they paint it with the blue as the color of the sky, others say to protect the houses from the mosquitos. Therefore, we don’t know exactly the right answer. There are many things to visit here. Firstly, the best thing to do in the early morning is to hike the Rif mountains for the sunrise and an overview of the city. Secondly, after hiking in the mountains, just as you step into the city, there is a small river called Ras El Ma coming from the Akchour waterfalls.
Thirdly, at the center of Chaouen lies the Kasbah Ethnographic Museum. Here, you can find information about the region. Also, there is a small art gallery and some gardens. The west side of the Kasbah is the plaza or Place Outa El Hamam. Here, there are many restaurants and cafes, it’s where people come to relax as it’s a square where locals entertain with music. Our 2 days tour from Tangier to Chefchaouen ends in the afternoon back at Tangier.
