Day 1: Fez – Ifrane – Midelt – Ziz Gorges – Erfoud – Rissani – Merzouga
We will pick you up from your Hotel or Riad in Fes then drive southwards to Ifrane and Azrou by the Middle Atlas Mountains; on the way we will stop at cedar forest to see the Barbarian Ape in their natural habitat. Traveling through the Tizi Ntalghamt pass to Midelt and along the magnificent Ziz Gorges carved through volcanic rock, you’ll see views of the Middle- Atlas plateau, noticing how the scenery changes to reveal hints of the desert as you approach the city Errachidia. After lunch, we’ll continue our journey through the Ziz valley Erfoud, Rissani and Merzouga. After a glass of mint tea, we will leave our luggage in a room then take the camels to a Berber camp in the middle of Erg Chebbi Sad Dunes. 20 km long and 5 km wide it is also reputed as the highest sand dunes in North Africa. It is a unique and diverse environment. The camel trek takes about 1hr 30 min from the hotel to the camp where we continue the spirit of the nomadic Berber lifestyle. There we setup 3 Berber tents with additional restaurant and kitchen with the dunes naturally providing basic facilities. The tents are well equipped and we provide mattresses, blankets, and cushions. After dinner we gather round the fire and enjoy the desert night perhaps with traditional Berber drums.

Day 2: Merzouga erea- culture and tradition
After breakfast, you will go all the way round the dunes via the oasis of MERZOUGA, the nomadic depository, KHAMLIA village (Blacks’ village You’ll visit the Gnawa people, originally slaves brought from Sudan, to experience their music and lifestyle. Not far away there’s the lake of Merzouga, with its bird populations, you’ll leave for Rissani. Once called Sijilmassa, this was the meeting place for the salt caravans, coming from Timbuktu in Mali. Here you’ll walk through the souk, selling spices, vegetables and cloths. After a lunch pizza in Rissani you will travel back to your riad where where your camel will be awaiting you. After a glass of mint tea we will make our way to start our camel trek. All unnecessary luggages can be left in safe rooms at the hotel. The 90 minute camel trek will take us to a Berber camp in the middle of the Erg Chebbi sand dunes, the highest in North Africa. The camp consists of several comfortable Berber tents equipped with mattresses and linen, a restaurant, a kitchen. The evening will consist of dinner followed by entertainment provided by Berber drums

Day 3: Merzouga – Toudgha Gorges – Dades Valley
The camel man will wake you up early in the morning to watch what well may be the best sunrise of your life. Afterwards, you’ll peacefully camel-trek back to your hotel appreciating the unique beauty of the spectacular Erg Chebbi dunes – changing with the light as the day progresses. After breakfast and shower, you’ll leave for Tinghir and Todra gorges – the highest, narrowest gorges in Morocco. before arriving at Dades Valley for dinner and accommodation.

Day 4: Dades Valley – Skoura – Ouarzazate- Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah – High Atlas mountain – Marrakech 
After breakfast in the hotel we’ll drive through the Dades Valley towards Kalaat Mgouna and Ouarzazate. The route through Dades Valley is the way of the thousand Kasbahs – providing numerous opportunities to take some of your best photographic shots of the trip. Then the roses valley and Skoura village. Continue to Ouarzazat, “the Hollywood of Africa”. Lunch is at the famous Ait Ben Haddou kasbah, the largest Kasbah in Morocco. After touring this UNESCO matrimonial historical site, our journey will continue through the majestic Tizi ‘n’ tichka pass (2260m) over the High Atlas Mountains,. Day 1 : Fes –  Ifran -Azrou – Midelt.
Departure to Midelt passing through the Middle Atlas Mountains and the berber village of Immouzer Kandar and Ifrane, a wonderful mountains village, referred to as “the Switzerland of Morocco” and then on to Midelt. During this journey you’ll experience glimpses of the Middle Atlas and Higher Atlas mountains. Stopping at Azrou, a Berber village in the middle of the famous cedar forest – the largest in Morocco – where you may well sight Barbary apes. After sometime within the forest, your journey continues to Midelt along the magnificent hills and mountains of the Atlas. In Midelt you will be accommodated in a luxurious hotel, Dinner Bed Breakfast.

5 days Fes to Marrakech desert trip

Day2: Midelt – Errachidia – Erfoud – Rissani – Merzouga.
After breakfast in your hotel you will travel to Merzouga via Errachidia and Erfoud. You will be travelling through the fascinating Tiz Ntalghamt pass and the Ziz Gorge, taking in views of the High Atlas plateau, you’ll notice how the scenery changes to reveal hints of the desert as you approach the city of Errachidia, Afterwards, you will travel along the luxuriant Ziz Valley, stopping for panoramic views along the way to Erfoud and Rissani. Arrive at Merzouga, guided by an experienced Camel man, to explore within the mysterious sand-sea of the Erg-Chebbi. On your way, pause to watch the sunset then continue your ride – seemingly in the middle of nowhere! Dinner and overnight will be under the stars,
or if you prefer, in a traditional Berber nomad tent.

Day 3 : Merzouga – Er rissani – Merzouga “Culture and tradition”.
Your camel man will wake you up early in the morning to watch what well my be the best sunrise of your life. After   you will peacefully camel-trek back to the village of Merzouga to have your breakfast . Enroute you will be dazzled by the everchanging hues of the spectacular Erg Chebbi dunes, which are a scene of constant change and fascination as sunlight transforms them from pink to gold to red.After breakfast , we will depart to the holy city of Er rissani, a site where the Alouite dynasty are buried in the mousoleum of Moulay Ali Sherif, visit the ruins of Ksar Abbar, a kasbah that dates from 17 th century. Rissani is surrounded by 360 ksars ( fortified villages with many towers ) and has a big souk (an open market), held three times a week. After we will have a tour of Rissani’s famed palmerie and a glimpse of life as it is lived on the edge of the desert . Visit the ksar Oulad Abdelhalim,which was built around 1900 for Sultan Moulay Hassan. Then we will continue the trip through the open black desert back to Merzouga. Overnight accommodation will be in riad or hotel.

Day 4 : Merzouga – Rissani – Tinghir – Boumanle Dades – Ouarzazate.
After breakfast , you’ll leave for Rissani , Tinghir, and Boumalne Dades ; the line of kasbahs that give this extremely popular route its nickname: Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs, Begin just before the town of Skoura, which is Kalaa Mgouna, the rose city where you cauld purchase rose water and continue to Ouarzazate, the Hollywood of Africa, whose geography and beautiful landscapes have attracted many world class movie producers. Possible visit (if there is no production event) to the movie studio, a well-known cimatographic center used for block buster productions including Astrix and Cleopatra directed by Alain Chabat ,and the Oscar- wining Gladiator directed by Ridley Scott . Overnight stay will be at the riad in Ouarzazate.

Day5 :Ouarzazate – Marrakesh.
After breakfast that will take place around 7o´clock, then we will have the road toward Marrakech. In our way we will pay a visit to the famous Ait ben Haddou Kasbah, one of the most intriguing red earth castles lining the ancient Route of the Kasbahs, our trip will continue through the dramatic landscape of the High Atlas Mountains passing throught the Berber town of Taddart, and over than 2,260 meter high Tizi-in-tichka pass, where we will stop for lunch, before we continue to Marrakesh where tour ends.
